The agent still has to settle
A model can suggest a trade. A sealed run can keep the strategy off the host. A checked multiply can secure the chain. None of those pay anyone.
That is the step most agent decks skip. They stop at the idea. Someone still has to open another app, send the bill, or sit on a spreadsheet until the fill lands. If that someone is you, the agent was a research assistant.
01What settlement is
On Amadeus the agent can hold a balance and pay. The rail is x402. The venue of the trade can still be Base, Solana, or a brokerage screen. The user should not have to learn a second product to finish the job.
This is already live. It is not a launch note. More than 1.7 million executions on Hub since August, about $20 million in verified EAV. Those are executions, not a claim about every trade in the market.
02Why the earlier pieces were not this
Replay tells you the run was the same. A sealed VM tells you the host did not read the strategy. A verified matrix multiply tells you the work was checked. Each of those is a real job. None of them is the bill.
Miners are paid in AMA for the work that secures the chain. Agents spend the same token to run and to settle. On most chains those are two invoices. Here they are one token. That does not make the multiply into a payment. It means the agent has something to pay with.
03Where people still get stuck
The stuck point is rarely the prompt. It is the handoff. The agent decides, then a human leaves the screen. Watch, decide, transact is the whole job. If the last word needs another app, the stack stopped early.
Hub is where someone composes the agent. Embed is where that agent can sit in a screen that already exists. Neither door replaces the rail. They are how a customer reaches it.
Until the agent can finish the bill, useful work is a security budget and a sealed run is a private demo. Settlement is the part that makes either of them a trade.
